Never a dull moment...

Had a great weekend. Saturday we started the day by cutting Jonathon’s hair. I’m not sure why I keep cutting his hair like I actually know what I’m doing. One day I’ll figure it out. Because he had hair all over him, I had to put him in the bathtub to rinse him off. I started to pour water over the top of his head and he says, “Mommy, don’t mess up my haircut!“ I just giggled and thought to myself, “Bubby, there’s no messing this one up.“ I love that kid J

Sunday we went to church and then to Matt’s grandparents farm. Such a beautiful day! The kids played non-stop. Matt and Jonathon fished for quite awhile and Jonathon caught 6 or 7 blue gill. He’s already telling big fish stories. He’d catch a fish then run around the pond yelling, “Mamaw! Papaw! I caught a fish and it was this big!” and he’d stretch his arms out to his sides. Definitely his daddy’s boy.

Day 1 of being a stay at home mom was crazy busy but I honestly thought I was going to make it through without a disaster. I should have known otherwise as my kids never fail me. After dinner I just happened to glance over at the fish bowl in the kitchen window. I noticed that Ariel, Ali’s fish, was kind of bobbing around and every once in awhile would go belly up. By the time I actually got over to Ariel to take her out of the bowl, she was gone. I debated on whether or not I should tell Ali and how I would handle the situation. I decided to tell her and, of course, she cried. We took Ariel into the bathroom and I explained that by flushing Ariel we were sending her to “Fishy Heaven.” I went back into the kitchen to clean the fishbowl and call Matt to let him know of our first fatality. I turned around just in time to catch Jonathon rushing across the living room with Buzz , our surviving fish, in the fish net headed for the bathroom. I screamed and chased after him. I frantically ran with Buzz back into the kitchen only to find the bowl was missing. Ali was standing in the middle of the living room with the bowl. Oh boy, have I ever lost control in this house! Buzz finally made it back to his home but I’m not sure that he’ll survive the ordeal.

So what will Day 2 bring? Do I want to know?
